Subregión Chapare - Moxos: Territorios Indígena Originario Campesinos Titulados

b) Características generales
Esta subregión se encuentra entre los departamentos de Beni y Cochabamba y una pequeña parte en el oeste del departamento de Santa Cruz (territorio Yuracaré El Pallar).
La habitan tres pueblos indígenas principales. Dos de ellos con una tradición de alta movilidad geográfica (T’simane y Yuracaré), y el pueblo Mojeño (incluye a mojeños ignacianos y trinitarios) que se caracteriza por tener una población mayormente sedentaria, proveniente de misiones jesuíticas con movimientos milenaristas que les impulsaron a desplazamientos en la búsqueda de mejores tierras (la Loma Santa). De estos pueblos, los T’simanes son los más vulnerables debido a su forma de vida semi-itinerante, por lo que están expuestos a permanentes agresiones externas por parte de traficantes de tierras, explotadores ilegales de madera y otros.
Aquí se encuentra el TIOC y a la vez área protegida del TIPNIS que en su mayor proporción atraviesa el polémico límite interdepartamental Beni - Cochabamba.
Al sur y en colindancia con los TIOC están las zonas de colonización de comunidades campesinas del Chapare con fuerte tradición de producción agrícola en parcelas familiares, muchas de ellas dedicadas a la producción de la hoja de coca.
En total son siete TIOC que ocupan 2.3 millones de hectáreas consolidadas, esto representa alrededor del 11% del total de los TIOC titulados a nivel nacional.
c) Titulares de los TIOC
Los siete TIOC están afiliados a la CIDOB a través de dos organizaciones regionales, la CPIB en caso de siete de los nueve territorios y la Central de Pueblos Indígenas del trópico de Cochabamba que agrupa los pueblos Yuqui y Yuracaré.
Los TIOC de esta subregión tienen 26,028 personas, una tercera parte asentadas en comunidades pertenecientes al TIOC TIPNIS.
d) Los TIOC de mayor y menor extensión
El TIOC TIPNIS es el más extenso de la subregión, tres veces más que el segundo más grande, el Territorio Indígena Multiétnico (TIM I). Si bien el TIPNIS es el más extenso, hay que tomar en cuenta que es un área protegida y gran parte de este territorio se inunda en épocas de lluvia, razón que limita el asentamiento de comunidades hacia el sur del territorio y al norte, en el departamento de Beni.
Al norte de la subregión se encuentra el TIOC Mojeño Ignaciano que es el que tiene la menor extensión de todos: 47 mil hectáreas que representa el 2% del total de la subregión Chapare – Moxos.
